This is a 25 minute short shot in 2008 by the Court 13 team, with Ben Zeitlin directing. Very interesting to watch after Beasts of the Southern Wild. Both films are set in the Louisiana bayou after “a” flood, but they tell starkly different stories. Katrina is never called by name, which is a good archetypal choice. I enjoyed seeing a few elements and motifs carry over ~ youth and innocence, revelry, fire(works), bathtub, odyssey and white boots!
GLORY’S intriguing underwater scenes dramatize the story’s afterlife plot and immediately reminded me of Jason DeCaires Taylor’s sculptures. But to take the camera and actors into the depths for live action art is plain ol’ cool.

Looks good….is it playing locally or just this you tube version? Call me old fashioned, I like being in a dark theatre with people 😉
Not in theaters…just a short, short. Turn the lights out and pop some popcorn!
