I’m no big fan of “Got Talent” shows, but this is too good not to share. I have my dear friend Judith on The Park in Brooklyn to thank for sending these links:
I’ve never seen anyone quite like this 11-year old South African girl, Botlahle [bo-TA-lay].
Important note: The poem, “Our Deepest Fear” —so often credited to Nelson Mandela—was written by Marianne Williamson.

I knew you would love this little girl. You look at her face and in her eyes and just know that all who have loved her have nurtured the light she and all of us are born with . . . but it must be lit and nurtured. I love her faith in herself and her self-confidence. It shows the importance of education. It shows the depth of the root of who we are that this little girl from a continent that has been “discovered”, colonized, enslaved, robbed and raped of its riches. . . still its children its future have hope.
Indeed. Thanks for sharing this with us, Judith.
Very Very powerful ~ it’s not easy to bring tears to my eyes…but she did…..and as the gentlmen says, she brings hope for a fabulous future!!!!
Reblogged this on WELCOME TO OJAJUNI FESTUS' LAB and commented:
Botlanhle, an 11 years old poet is a living example of a true life talent in the world today. She performed the famous poem, “Our Deepest Fear” by Marianne Williamson— written in credited to Nelson Mandela, a re-known nationalist and nation builder, who suffered a great deal in putting an end to Apartheid in South Africa and bringing about freedom to his people.
So, no matter how hidden your talent may be, surely, it will soon shine.
