Movie ~ The Butler

The story deftly barrels through history and emotions, exploring many of the  themes I take on in Peach Seed Monkey. Bypass the media hype and reviews. Go straight to your seat and judge for yourself. Director Lee Daniels, —who also brought us the movie, Precious—has once again put an uncompromised story on the big screen.

Eugene Allen, the real butler whose life inspired this fictional story, passed away in 2010. So glad he lived to see the color of the white house change.

You know we can’t wait to hear what you think of this film. Comment below:

  1. My feelings exactly!!!! I felt the film did have some problems ~ a little to long and a little “forest gumpish” in the end but the fabulous contrast between the Butler’s experience and his oldest son flashing back and forth was phenomenal and the HISTORY……OMG…., not to mention great comic / acting moments…..I felt it was a VERY important film and a wonderful message ~ a must see in my book!

    1. I see what you mean about “Forest Gumpish” —if you are referring to the civil rights son being in EVERY major event of the Movement from the Sit-Ins to Selma to The Black Panther Party — I can agree that on the one hand. On the other I can see how Daniels may have been trying for an archetypal character. But even then, I think he missed. But all I also agree with you that it is a VERY important film.
