Don’t run—SPRINT to see the brand new documentary about the rebirth of Rwanda~ Sweet Dreams .
Went to a special member screening two days ago at the Rafael Theater (in San Rafael, CA) and was blown away. I detest spoiler alerts and TMI trailers (Too Much Information)—which are everywhere these days—because they make it impossible to be surprised in the dark as a movie unfolds. Lucky for me, my husband did not tell me what the film was about so it was a double treat. Hence, click here only if you want to spoil the movie. But I pray you will do what I did, see the movie then visit the website.
No spoiler if you go here for current screenings.
NOTE TO Marin County followers ~
I just learned that Sweet Dreams has been extended one week at the Rafael Film Center.
Starting this Friday, Dec. 20th with showings at 4:00 and 8:00 PM.
Please put on your sprinting shoes and share this post!
I heard about this film and tried to get my husband to go see it; then someone at our daughter’s school suggested it and raved about it. I really really want to see it.
Well…NOW is your chance. But DON’T tarry! It’s by no means mainstream and you know how that goes…they disappear faster than you can say “Disney”.

Here’s a follow-up to Tura’s comment. She wrote this in email to me on Dec 18th, the day after she posted comment above:
“Sooooo I went to see Sweet Dreams tonight [@ Shattuck Theater, Berkely, CA] and when I realized I’d missed it a few days ago and then saw your blog I was sad, but as I was buying my ticket this evening I looked down and saw that the DirectorLisa Fruchtman was going to be there after the movie for Q and A!!!! I’ll tell you all I learned when I see you but wanted you to have this picture ~ I raised my hand at the end saying that I had a friend who’s an author and is writing a book and has a blog and that you mentioned her movie on your blog and so I asked her if I could take a picture of her so you could post it on your blog and she said ABSOULTELY!!!!” so…here it is!…

This has already been in NYC and gone and I never knew about it. Thank you Anita. I’m trying to see it with a musician friend from Rwanda and his wife. The power of art
(music) never ceases to amaze me. And the strength of forgiveness in the wake of Mandela’s death resonates the beauty of a people.
