Writing in The Headlands

Been a while since I posted. Glad to see you’re still out there! Busy, exciting time. Much to be grateful for:

As of July 1, 2018, after years of applying, I finally landed in an enchanted place — The Headlands Center for the Arts in the hills above the Golden Gate Bridge. This Affiliate Artistship comes with subsidized studio space for one year. Thank you Headlands! What an honor to work with the stellar Headlands staff and be in the company of amazing artists from around the world.

This Sunday, July 29, I will participate in my first Headlands Open House.

If you’re in the SF Bay Area, please drop in. In addition to an installation in my studio based on themes and subjects from my work-in-progress novel, Peach Seed Monkey, I’ll read from the novel at 3:30pm in Building 945.

  1. Congratulations! It’s so beautiful at the Marin headlands. You’ll need to do more writing and less looking out the window, LOL

  2. Hey Anita,I was just thinking about you last night and here comes your post! Congratulations on getting to where you’ve gotten with Peach Seed Monkey — seriously! I’m having this wild and crazy thought that Nicolette and I could maybe come up there on Sunday and attend your reading (but as of this morning, that’s only a thought: If we/I can we/I will!) So glad you have found that beautiful, helpful place to write.

  3. Congratulations Anita! You deserve that tranquil place to expand your work and hone your passion! I’m on mini-vacation that day, so I’ll try to get my boys up the mountain for it!

  4. Congratulations! It looks peaceful and inspirational. They are lucky to have you. Sorry I can’t make it as I have my granddaughters en route at that time.

  5. I’m soooo sorry to miss this – on Göteborg Sweden presently – you BELONG there Anita so I’m happy that you made it ~ keep us all posted – we are out here watching ❤️💕💋👍🌺♥️I’ll text/ email once I’m home ( Mid Sept) and try to hook up 😜❤️💋👊🏽👌🏾🖖🏽
