Georgia, The Peach State, is 2,000 miles from California, The Golden State, but this time of the year, my birth home and current home have a lot in common ~ glorious, juicy ripe peaches.
My favorite source for local stone fruit in northern California is Kashiwase Farms located in Winton. I catch them on Thursdays and Sundays at the Civic Center AIM Farmers Market in San Rafael.
Kashiwase has many lovely varieties of yellow and white peaches and nectarines and Art is always there with tips on which variety fits your needs. At the start of the season he sent me home with this EARLY RICH variety for grilling:
