PARIS Part II ~ Art and Food

Life is busy right now. One day left before we drive off to deliver the college freshman.
In between packing and going through boxes of Kleenex, I continue revisions on the novel.

I welcome this distraction ~ a chance to keep my promise and bring you Part II of PARIS : Food & Art

Portrait de Négresse
Marie-Guillemine BENOIST: Portrait de Négresse, 1800 Musée du Lourvre

Musée D’Orsay ~ magnificently restored Beaux-Arts train station; 19th century art. My favorite museum in Paris:

One of my top five favorite paintings.

JEAN-AUGUSTE-DOMINIQUE INGRES, Le Bain Turc, 1862

Ingres’ precise abstraction of the human body works for me; those necks require extra vertebrae! Quite simply: the man could draw.

Musée Rodin ~ another favorite for the statues in the gardens ~

They drew us in with samples out on the street ~ Our pizza was delicious, as was the wine.

  1. You took such beautiful pictures I love my native town so much so I am going to keep this album Thanks Anita

  2. Bonjour, Anita,

So nice to see your photos….we were just there in the exact same spots.

And, I agree, the Musee D’Orsay is the best. We watched the clouds overhead

spill across the sculptures, making them come alive. And, Rodin’s home

museum is a favorite place. Relaxed.
