Celebrating 4 Years!

HERO.4thBday

Wooo–whooo!! THANKS to YOU—devoted Followers—this blog is 4 years old! To celebrate I’m launching a new feature: IN A NUTSHELL: an audio blogcast where I will share my writings, research interviews ~ and what not. This first episode is a revised version of the pages I read on Friday, October 23 at Rant & Reverie, a fundraiser for Novato (CA) Theater. It’s a scene from the set up of my work-in-progress novel, Peach Seed Monkey. To listen, CLICK  HERE ~ or ~ the play> button below. Leave a comment!…share your thoughts on the reading.

  1. Great readings with the 2nd audio being superior in set up and reading -very intriguing beginning leaving me painfully waiting for more!! I hope when your book comes out there is an audio version read by the Author!!! I love your voice Anita – I could listen to it all day – I could smell the rice n Chicken neck bones cooking and I thought when Fletcher picked up a few onions that would be a good addition to the aforementioned meal – I could smell the perfume and see her kitchen 🙂 —– can’t wait for more!!!!!

  2. If he had not left his iPad on the tractor seat, he could have gotten all the answers while sitting in the parking lot waiting for her to come out of the store. Glad this is not that kind of story. Following her and seeing where she is staying is more the right way to do these things. What dinner? This is no time to be hungry. I was able to “watch” it on my blank computer screen and like my friend Tura, I could smell the perfume rising up from the keyboard. Anxiously awaiting the next segment.

  3. Hey, Anita, great moment and story. Poor Fletcher, I feel for him. You made me care about him fast. Got interested the moment he towed that car. He’d been going good there for a minute too, till he made a fateful trip to the Piggly Wiggly. Good luck to him, I look forward to hearing more. Hopefully he has saved some hay? . . . Lotta nice detail and moments within this big story moment. Loved it! You are a very fine reader, Anita!

  4. Huge thanks to all for listening and commenting. I had fingers crossed that In a Nutshell would be well received. Good to know the characters resonate. OK, enough of this fun (some people will do anything to get out of revising their novel)…Off I go….back to the keyboard….
